An Ghaeilge sa Nua-Aoiseacht Dhéanach: an meon i leith éagsúlacht Teanga sa Ghaeilge

This work explores the linguistic diversity of contemporary spoken Irish and the values ​​that are linked, explicitly and covertly, to that diversity. Although the traditional Gaeltacht dialects have a clear prestige, it is argued that there is particular value in post-traditional language practices that are widespread and spreading, but not under an obvious prestige. Language diversity, however, is closely linked to the social values ​​linked to diversity. They are both based on issues of identity and the way in which social actors understand their own and human role in late modernity.
