Poulnabrone, the Burren, Co. Clare.
Made from limestone laid down 350 million years ago, Poulnabrone is a large dolmen – a type of megalithic tomb – made of three standing portal stones supporting a heavy horizontal capstone. Today, there are approximately 172 dolmens still standing in Ireland, each one adding the unique spirituality of its landscape.
