DESCRIPTION
St Brigid is one of Irelands patron Saints along with St Patrick. She was an early Irish Christian Nun, an abbess, and a founder of several monasteries. Her feast day is the 1st of February which was formally celebrated as a pagan festival. Marking the beginning of Spring and the lambing season. She is sometimes known as Mary of the Gael.
