Barzaz is delighted to publish the first poetry collection from the poet Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha, whose poems have already been printed in the likes of Comhar, Feasta, Éigse Éireann, ANEAS, The Waxed Lemon, ROPES and An Capall Dorcha. Laoighseach’s poetry has won quite a few awards to date, including the Foras na Gaeilge Award at Listowel Writers’ Week, 2023. There is an honesty and a freshness in this first collection of her poetry, as she delves deep into issues such as identity, the physicality of the human body, and the way in which art can both empower and bind.
