In Irish folklore and mythology, the wild pansy is often associated with the legendary figure, Brigid, who is revered as a goddess of fertility, healing, and poetry. The flower is sometimes called "Brigid's flower" or "Brigid's brooch".
Legend has it that Brigid transformed common weeds into beautiful flowers, and the GOIRMÍN SEARRAIGH is said to be one of her creations.
