DESCRIPTION

Snap game to help with learning the counties of Ireland and their names in Irish, as well as the county GAA colours

ALSO - COUNTY CHANGE IT - Jack Change It only BETTER!

An additional fun and interactive game created by a 14 year old boy from Swatragh, Co Derry can be played using this set of playing cards.

Everyone is given 7 cards at the start. The object of the game is to get rid of your cards first.

The top card on the remaining pile is turned up. This is the starting card and determines the starting province.

You can only put down cards belonging to the province currently in play. There are two exceptions to this. The first is if you have a province card (jack), putting down a province card (jack) allows you to change to any province of your choice, or keep the current province. You can play a matching card (any county with the same colours) For example, Galway is in play Westmeath can be placed on top, this changes the province in play from Connaught to Leinster

If you cannot play a card you take a card off the top of the remaining pile. When this pile is done the played cards are turned over (bar the top one) and are used to pick up from.

Derry/Cork/Louth/Mayo - as previously stated this allows you to keep the current province or change it to a province of your choosing (like the jack)

Trick/action cards are as follows:

Green & Yellow County Colours - If you play a county card that has the colours green & yellow (Donegal, Kerry, Meath, Leitrim) the next player picks up 2 cards, unless they also have a county card of these colours in which case they can play it and make the next player pick up 4 (this can continue up to 16)

A Dublin card - This makes the next player pick up 6. This cannot be passed on or avoided at all unless of course the next player has the other Dublin card and the next person must pick up 12!

An Offaly card makes the next player miss a turn (regardless of whether they have an Offaly card).

A Carlow card changes the direction of play.

After playing the penultimate card you must say last card or you are not allowed to play it. You cannot end on a trick/action card and therefore must pick up a card.

Cards in pack 64 (2 of each county)
